How to choose a pressure washing company in Tampa Bay
Pressure washing looks simple, and a good crew makes it look easy. The risk is in the details: the wrong pressure on the wrong surface, no insurance if something breaks, a vague price that grows on the day. These are the checks worth ten calm minutes before you book.
Start with what you want cleaned
Roofs, siding, driveways, pavers, pool cages and fences are not all cleaned the same way. Decide what is on the list first, then look for pros who say they do that work. You can filter the directory by roof cleaning, house washing, driveways or pavers.
Across 18 areas we list 211 pros (as of November 4, 2026): 171 for house washing, 151 for roof cleaning, 176 for driveways and concrete, and 143 for pavers.
Ask how they clean your roof
Asphalt-shingle manufacturers and the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) advise against high-pressure washing of shingle roofs, and describe low-pressure cleaning with solutions instead. A pro who plans to blast a shingle roof with a pressure washer is worth a second question. Soft wash vs pressure washing explains the difference.
77 pros in the directory say they clean roofs with a low-pressure soft wash. That is what the pro states, not something we have tested.
Insurance: ask for the certificate
Water at pressure can crack a window, strip a finish or lift a shingle. Ask the pro for a certificate of insurance and read what it covers and for which dates. A phone call to the insurer named on the certificate is a normal thing to do.
80 pros state that they carry insurance. We show the statement as published; we do not see the policy itself.
A local business tax receipt
Florida counties and cities issue local business tax receipts to businesses operating there (Florida Statutes chapter 205). Asking to see one is a quick way to learn whether the business is set up locally. We do not claim that Florida requires a state license for pressure washing.
0 pros publish a receipt number we could record.
